Hannes Wolf signing excites Swansea City boss Martin
Head coach Russell Martin believes Hannes Wolf will prove to be an exciting signing for Swansea City after sealing his loan move from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 22-year-old midfielder will wear the number 13 shirt in SA1, and could be in contention to make his debut in Saturday’s Championship meeting with Preston.
Wolf had been linked with a number of clubs during the January window, but revealed how his conversations with Swans boss Martin had ensured he chose to head to SA1 for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
And Martin views the Austrian under-21 international as the latest strong acquisition to his squad this month, following the arrivals of Andy Fisher and Cyrus Christie.
"Hannes can play in numerous positions in attack. He is a fantastic athlete," he said.
"Out of possession he’s incredible in terms of what he does for the team. He is selfless.
"I spoke to a few people about his character, and everything that came back was really top.
“If anything you have to rein him in at times with how hard he wants to work and how serious he is about his profession.
"I think he’ll bring assists, goals and a real threat. He can play anywhere for us and have an impact."
