Grimes: Swans looking to end 2018 strongly
Matt Grimes wants Swansea City to make sure they start 2019 with a bang, by finishing 2018 with momentum on their side.
Graham Potter’s men travel to face Hull City on Saturday (5.30pm) looking to claim a third win in a row after victories over Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday.
Should the Swans be able to claim all three points against a resurgent Tigers’ outfit, it will mark the first time they have recorded a trio of league wins in succession since May 2017.
It would also kick-off a hectic schedule of four games in 11 days in ideal fashion as the festive period gets under way in earnest.
Swansea’s wins over the Bees and the Owls came on the back of a trio of defeats, and midfielder Grimes believes the reversal in fortunes shows just how quickly things can change in the Championship.
And the 23-year-old wants Swansea to make sure they carry their current momentum through this busy period and into the New Year.
“In any league, your fortunes can change very quickly,” he said.
“After losing three games on the bounce, we kept working hard and have two good wins.
“Hopefully, we can make it three in a row against Hull this week.
“This is one of our busiest periods in the season, so we want to build a good run going into the New Year and give us some confidence.”
