Former Swansea City left-back Fede Bessone's back on familiar ground
11th August
Fede Bessone is back training with the Swans as he continues his search for a new club.
The popular left-back spent three years at the Liberty during two separate spells at the club, making over 40 appearances in the Swans' Championship and Premier League campaigns.
And the 30-year-old, who has since spent time at Swindon Town, Oldham Athletic, MLS Cup champions Sporting Kansas City and Millwall, is back at his old stomping ground training with Swans' Under-21s regaining fitness in order to help him find a new club.
And having seen former Liberty team-mate Andrea Orlandi join Blackpool following a short spell training with the Swans, Bessone is hoping for a similar outcome.
"It's great to be around everyone at Swansea again," beamed Bessone. "This is a special place and a great club from which I have brilliant memories. I have a lot of respect for this club, the coaching staff, the players and supporters.
"It has been really nice seeing my old team-mates and the staff again, and I'm so grateful to the club and Garry (Monk) for allowing me to train here. I appreciate the club doesn't have to give me this opportunity, but that is the kind of club Swansea City is.
"I phoned Garry and asked if I could train here and he said 'no problem at all'. So I've been training with the Under-21s in order to help me gain fitness.
"After playing for a few clubs after I left Swansea, including Kansas City in America, I really want to play in Britain again.
"So, by maintaining my fitness here at Swansea, I hope to get a chance with a club to show what I can offer."
