Former Swans stars set to return to Swansea.com Stadium for charity fixture
A host of former Swansea City heroes will return to the Swansea.com Stadium pitch for a Wales v England charity match next month.
The fixture will take place on Saturday, May 11 (3.30pm KO), and is presented by Joseph's Smile and The Bradley Lowery Foundation.
Funds raised from the star-studded game will help ensure the children supported by the charities are able to access the care, support and treatment they need.
Former Swansea City defender Chris Coleman – who led Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 – will take charge of the Wales team, while ex-Arsenal and Tottenham centre-half Sol Campbell will manage England.
Coleman will be assisted by Swansea City legend Alan Curtis MBE.
Featuring for Wales will be ex-Swans captain Ashley Williams, who won 86 caps for his country and made over 300 appearances for the club.
He will be joined in the squad by Leon Britton, Owain Tudur Jones and Shaun MacDonald.
In the England squad, Nathan Dyer is set to feature alongside another ex-Swan, Adebayo Akinfenwa.
They are set to be joined by former England stars Joe Cole and Jermain Defoe, and two-time Olympic gold medalist Sir Mo Farah.
The game aims to raise awareness and funds for Joseph’s Smile and The Bradley Lowery Foundation; charities founded by families who had been affected by childhood cancer.
Katy Yeandle and Gemma Lowery have united in order to help others who have been impacted, and to honour the memory and legacies of their sons Joseph and Bradley, who courageously battled neuroblastoma.
The families tirelessly raised funds for a potentially life-saving course of treatment in the United States but, sadly, Joseph and Bradley passed away before they were able to receive the bivalent vaccine.
Tickets can be purchased online by clicking the button below, or by contacting the Swansea City ticket office by calling 01792616400 and selecting option 1.
