Five Academy youngsters represent Swansea City at 2024 Cymru Cup
Five Swansea City academy players participated in the 2024 Cymru Cup at Colliers Park this week, an event which showcases Wales' future talent.
Alfie Hughes, Theo Harrington, Bobby Lewis, Rio Hassan, and Nioll Siwela, who play across the age-groups in the youth and foundation phase, were selected from Swansea City.
Players involved in the Cymru Cup are part of the FAW’s regional programme. The programme has bases in both north and south Wales, and involves training days and matches across a two-year period, which concludes with the Cymru Cup competition.
There were three teams (Team Ampadu, Team Ramsey and Team James) made up of players representing licensed FAW Academies in Wales, as well as talent selected from a number of clubs in the English football system.
This year’s tournament saw 60 players take part, with ex-Swans stars Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor also in attendance.
