Finley Burns | It was a brilliant feeling to win on my debut
Finley Burns savoured the winning feeling after helping Swansea City to a 3-1 victory over Bristol City on his senior league debut.
The 18-year-old made his debut for the Swans with Ryan Bennett suspended and Kyle Naughton absent through injury, and he produced an assured display as he got 75 minutes under his belt following his January loan move from Manchester City.
It was just a second senior appearance for the teenager, whose previous outing had been in Manchester City’s League Cup win over Wycombe earlier this season.
And he was delighted to seal a landmark win on a milestone occasion in his young career.
“It was brilliant, the fans really helped me with how they got behind us,” said the centre-back.
“It was a big day for myself, making my debut in front of everyone and it was a pleasure.
“It’s a great feeling, we went a goal down but once we got that equaliser you could feel the atmosphere raise and we were able to push on from that and get the win.
“I have felt welcomed here and it was a brilliant feeling to make my debut.
“The aim is to try and earn a regular place in the first team, there were a few mistakes in my game that I know I need to learn from and correct for the future to get better.
“I just want to get as many games under my belt and get the team moving in the right direction.”
