Fer eyes comeback
Leroy Fer is edging closer to a Swansea City comeback after returning to full training.
The new Swans skipper was originally ruled out until the autumn after rupturing an Achilles at Leicester City back in February.
But he is hoping to hand boss Graham Potter a huge boost by declaring himself fit within the next few weeks.
Fer took part in full training for the first time under Potter as the Swans held an open session at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday.
And the powerful midfielder is aiming to return well ahead of schedule.
“When I got injured in February they said I would be back in October or November,” Fer said.
“Now I am already training with the group, so things are going very well for me.
“But I have to keep focused. I have to do my work before training and after training to get my fitness back.
“I haven’t put a time-frame on it, but hopefully, if things go well, I can be back getting some minutes in a couple of weeks.”
