Fans’ forum proves huge success
The Jack Army turned out in force as they got to meet head coach Russell Martin at the club's first fans' forum of the season.
Held on Wednesday night at the Swansea.com Stadium, fans were given the opportunity to put questions to Martin, along with chief executive Julian Winter, sporting director Mark Allen, members of the club’s senior management team and Terry Sinnett of the Supporters’ Trust.
The panel were asked about a range of topics, including player recruitment, academy, matchday experience, playing style and commercial aspects of the club.
And Russell Martin was delighted with the opportunity to meet supporters in person for the first time since arriving in SA1.
“It was a really positive evening,” he said. “It has carried along the lines of what I’ve seen since I’ve been here which is an incredible level of support.
“So many people care so much about the club, and the people in charge within the senior management group have been really honest and transparent with the supporters and I think they will appreciate that.
“It feels like there’s a real connection, particularly following Covid, which has been a difficult period for everyone. But I think the fans feel really connected with what we are trying to do, and it was brilliant for me to feel that positivity and feed that back to the staff at Fairwood.
“Everything was answered with real honesty and detail, and if the club can’t do something for supporters then they explain why. And if they can, or they are trying to, then they explain where they are in that process so I think everyone would have left feeling really confident about the way the club is being run and the vision we have for the team, and hopefully where we are going to end up.”
