Fabianski loses red card appeal
9th December
Swansea City have lost their appeal against the red card issued to goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski against West Ham on Sunday.
The club appealed to the Football Association who today upheld the decision.
A statement from the FA read: "Swansea City's Lukasz Fabianski will serve a one-match suspension with immediate effect after his claim of wrongful dismissal was dismissed following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today. Fabianski was dismissed for denying a goal scoring opportunity.''
The Polish international, who was shown a straight red card by referee Chris Foy for impeding Diafra Sakho in the 68th minute, will now miss Sunday's Barclay's Premier League fixture against Spurs at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.
