FA Youth Cup fixture moved to Stadium of Light
Swansea City's Under-18s' FA Youth Cup fixture against Sunderland has now been moved to the Stadium of Light. The game will take place behind closed doors on Saturday, December 17. (1pm kick-off).
The third-round tie had been due to take place at Landore Training Ground this Saturday with a 2pm kick-off, having been postponed from its original date of Wednesday, December 14 due to a frozen pitch in SA1.
However, poor weather conditions in recent days have increased the risk of a further postponement at Landore, while a busy upcoming run of rugby and football fixtures for the Swans and the Ospreys meant the game could not be moved to the Swansea.com Stadium.
Under the circumstances it was felt the chance to move the game - with the Stadium of Light having undersoil heating, therefore limiting the prospect of a further postponement - and give the young Swans the opportunity to play the tie in an EFL Stadium was the correct course of action.
Supporters who had purchased a ticket for the game and wish to claim a refund can do so by emailing ticketing@swanseacity.com with their booking number. The refund will be processed back to the same card used at the point of purchase.
