Eight Academy Players to represent Wales for their respective age-groups
Eight Swansea City academy players have been selected to represent Wales in their respective age-groups over the upcoming international break.
First-year scholars Iestyn Jones and Osian Williams have earned their first international call-ups at under-17 level. Wales start their European Championship qualifying round against Israel at Lod Municipal Stadium on Wednesday, October 11.
Then, Craig Knight’s side face Belgium on Saturday, October 14 at Ness Ziona Stadium, before concluding the qualifying round against Gibraltar at the same venue on Tuesday, October 17.
Seventeen-year-old Kit Margetson gets his first call-up for Wales Under-19s, alongside Ben Lloyd, ahead of their European Championship qualifying campaign in Montenegro.
Evan Watts returns to the under-21s’ squad after missing out in the September window, with Josh Thomas, Joel Cotterill and Cameron Congreve also selected.
Matty Jones' team currently sit top of European qualifying Group I ahead of their visit to the Czech Republic after a positive start to their qualifying campaign, earning a 2-2 draw with top seeds Denmark before a 3-2 victory over Lithuania.
