Efforts of leading duo please Swans boss Williams
Luke Williams was pleased with the efforts of his strikers after Žan Vipotnik scored his first Swansea City goal and Liam Cullen got an important assist in the 3-0 win over Preston North End.
Matt Grimes had put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot before Cullen got into space down the left-hand side of the area and, after seeing his initial cross blocked, calmly set-up Ollie Cooper whose shot deflected into the net off Azeem Abdulai.
Vipotnik then round off the win when he converted from close range after slick build-up had worked room for Ronald to cross.
And the Swansea head coach was delighted with that the pair brought to the game.
“I was so happy for Žan because this is the type of goal that we want him to score,” said Williams.
“It’s a proper striker’s goal and I think for a player to get off the mark quickly, it really helps to make them feel more confident.
“Let’s hope we can provide more and more chances for him in a similar way.
“I also thought Liam Cullen’s performance was typical of him, and I am sure he is going to score a lot of goals as well.
“He stayed so calm in the action where he picked Ollie out for the second goal, he had worked so hard to get there and I think it was a great outing for our two strikers.”
