Dyer: We all believe now

Nathan Dyer believes the Swans have their bouncebackability back after they came from behind to snatch another precious point at Leicester City.

Jamie Vardy had given the Foxes a deserved lead in the first half only for skipper Federico Fernandez to head home an equaliser during a much-improved display after the break.

The draw moved the Swans out of the relegation zone again and meant they ended a tough three-game programme against Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester with an impressive seven-point haul.

“It was a tough game,” said Dyer, who picked up a Premier League winners’ medal during a loan spell at the King Power Stadium.

“We had to cope with a lot of direct balls towards the end, so it was totally different to the last two games against Liverpool and Arsenal.

“But as we did against Arsenal, we showed we can come back from a goal down.

“We keep pushing, knowing we have the belief to score, which is something we didn’t have before. It’s a massive boost for us as a team that we never give up.

“We have our bouncebackability back – that’s instilled in the boys now.

“The manager has given us that belief and enthusiasm that we can go out there and beat anyone if we put our minds to it because we are good players.

“He believes in us and told us that anything is possible in this league. He’s a great manager and getting the best out of us on the pitch. We want to repay that faith.

“Every point we get is crucial. We have moved out of the drop zone and the confidence we’ve got is massive. Now we have to take that into the next game.”

Dyer received warm applause from both sets of when he was substituted in the 71st minute – a gesture he was grateful for.

“I had a great year at Leicester winning the Premier League, one of the best of my life,” he added.

“It was nice to come back and see some old faces and for the fans to appreciate me being part of that was nice.

“I’ve had a bit of a battle to come back from injury since then and it was unfortunate that we have picked up two bad injuries this weekend.

“We wish Leroy (Fer) and Wilfried (Bony) all the best because it’s tough physically and mentally to come back from big injuries.

“But I’ve managed to do that and I am playing regularly again now. I need to maintain my form and keep my place in the side with such strong competition for places.”
