Dyer backs Reading Stars campaign

27th March

Swans ace Nathan Dyer has lent his support to the Premier League's Reading Stars campaign.

Reading Stars, run by the National Literacy Trust and the Premier League, is in its 11th year and has inspired nine out of ten pupils participating to read more.

And Dyer is the latest Swan to have backed the popular initiative, which uses children's passion for football to motivate them to enjoy reading and to improve their reading levels.

In the programme, a player from each Premier League club talks about their favourite books and sets reading challenges via online videos. These challenges are used to support over 30,000 children in 1,000 schools and libraries, who are taking part in a ten-week reading intervention with Premier League branded materials, including certificates, wristbands, reading journals and wall charts.

Dyer's chosen books were The Twits by Roald Dahl and My Premier League Diary by Swans team-mate and captain Ashley Williams.
