Double fitness boost for Swans
Leroy Fer is fit for Swansea City’s trip to Millwall this weekend and new recruit Cameron Carter-Vickers will also be in the travelling squad.
Skipper Fer was left out of the starting side against Bristol City last Saturday and played no part in the midweek Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace.
The Swans are remaining cautious with the midfielder after his rapid return from a long-term injury lay-off, but he is under consideration for the Millwall trip.
The same goes for Carter-Vickers, who was nursing a minor leg problem before sealing his loan move to the Liberty from Spurs but is now fit.
“Leroy is available,” said Potter, who will be without Jay Fulton on Saturday after he broke a bone in his hand.
“We have also got Tom (Carroll), Matt (Grimes) and George Byers who did well the other night, so we have options in midfield.
“Cameron had a slight problem but has got his first week’s training under his belt. We will make a decision on him for the weekend, but he will be in the squad.”
Oli McBurnie is “ready and available” for Millwall despite the fact that he has had injury issues, while Potter has a decision to make in goal.
Kristoffer Nordfeldt returned after a groin problem to face Palace and will now hope to reclaim his place in the Swans’ league team from Erwin Mulder.
“It’s one of those problems you want to have,” Potter said.
“Kris was doing well before his injury and Erwin came in and did really well. Kris came back the other night and did well, so we have two good players fighting for one position. That’s what you want.”
