Dhanda eyes Millwall chance
Yan Dhanda is hoping for another chance to shine when Swansea City go to Millwall on Saturday.
The 19-year-old made a dream start to life in SA1 following his summer move from Liverpool, scoring the winner just seconds after coming off the bench for his senior debut in the 2-1 victory over Sheffield United on the opening weekend.
Dhanda then had to wait until Tuesday’s Carabao Cup defeat by Crystal Palace for his next appearance, but once more the attacking midfielder showed signs of his undoubted potential.
Dhanda knows he has to be patient as he waits for opportunities - but insists he will be ready as and when they do.
“I knew that the manager would give me my chance when the time was right, which he did on Tuesday,” he said.
“I think people watching the Palace game would see that the younger players can do well. We dominated for spells of the game and proved that we can compete."
Having made such an impact at Bramall Lane, Dhanda has fingers crossed that his next taste of Championship action will not be far away.
“When the timing’s right, I believe I’m good enough to play at this level," he added.
"I’ll try to enjoy every chance I get and show what I can do.
“It’s up to the manager whether I’m starting, on the bench or in the squad and whatever he decides, I’ll respect.”
