Defender Iestyn Jones signs first professional contract at Swansea City
Swansea City defender Iestyn Jones has signed his first professional contract at the club.
The deal secures the youngster’s future at the club until the end of June 2026, and includes an option for an additional 12 months.
The 17-year-old has been at Swansea City since under-nine level and has since progressed through the ranks; signing his scholarship prior to the 2023-24 season.
Jones was a regular for the under-18s last term, and made his full under-21s' debut against Aston Villa in the Premier League Cup in February.
He played a crucial role for Wales Under-17s at the European Championship finals in Cyprus, alongside teammate Harlan Perry, during the summer.
The duo had also played their part in the young Dragons qualifying campaign as they reached the finals for the second year in a row.
