On this day: Fer signs
The Swans completed the permanent signing of Leroy Fer on this day in 2016.
Fer had enjoyed a successful loan spell from Queens Park Rangers in the second half of the 2015-16 season, making 11 appearances as the Swans finished 12th in the Premier League.
The Dutch midfielder made an immediate impact following his permanent switch to SA1, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Burnley on the opening day of the 2016-17 campaign.
He was on target twice in the next three games against Leicester City and Chelsea, as well as scoring a brace in the memorable 5-4 win over Crystal Palace at the Liberty.
Fer netted six times in 37 appearances in all competitions and added a further three strikes in 26 games during 2017-18, before a ruptured Achilles sustained against Leicester cut his season short.
To date, the 28-year-old has played 63 times for the Swans in all competitions, scoring nine goals.
