Danielle Broadhurst has her sights set on the Genero Adran Premier title after becoming Swansea City Women’s seventh summer acquisition.

Broadhurst joins from Barry Town United Women where she spent the second half of the 2023-24 season, having spent over a decade with Cardiff City Women.

The 32-year-old helped the Bluebirds to two league titles and four Welsh Women’s Cups across 11 years with the club.

Broadhurst joins on a semi-professional contract and will wear the number seven shirt for the Swans in the upcoming campaign.

The midfielder felt that joining the Swans gives her the opportunity to once again chase league titles and she believes the squad and staff in place give the side a great chance to do so.

“I’m very excited, I’m looking forward to the challenge, I think it’s going to be a very good season for us,” said Broadhurst.

“With the players that were already here and the players that have come in, I think we are going to have a very good year.

“I never thought I would be pulling this badge on, but I’m here, I’m happy to be here and I’m really looking forward to it.

“Facing Swansea has always been a really hard challenge, they were always the hardest team to play against.

“I obviously want to push for the title again and that’s why I joined Swansea.

“I’m always hungry to win the title and the cups, with the management that has come in and the strength of the squad this season, I think we will definitely be challenging.

“It’s always good to have the experience in the team, but some of the youngsters coming through are frightening, we have some really good young talented players at the minute.

“I have always admired the way that Swansea play, I just hope now that I can get stuck in and score a few more goals in the season.

“Jamie [Sherwood] has been amazing, I’ve known him for a long time, obviously he’s coached in the top leagues so he has a lot of experience and I think he will have a huge impact for us."
