Dan Watts | We know this a big opportunity
Dan Watts says Swansea City Under-18s head into their FA Youth Cup fourth-round clash with Fulham motivated by memories of their third-round success over Ipswich Town.
The Swans reached the fourth round for the first time since the 2020-21 campaign after knocking out the Tractor Boys with a 2-1 victory at Portman Road last month.
Meanwhile, the Cottagers - who play in the Under-18s' Premier League - completed a late comeback against Cardiff City to progress to this stage of the prestigious tournament.
And Watts hopes they can rise to the occasion again when welcoming a category one side to Landore on Wednesday evening (7pm kick-off).
"We know this is a big game, the FA Youth Cup is always something we look forward to and work hard for," said the midfielder.
"The feeling of winning at Ipswich was amazing, especially playing at a stadium, and the way the boys stuck together was brilliant.
"Hopefully, we can show that togetherness against Fulham, and we've got the advantage of playing at home where we're most comfortable.
"We were gutted to go out of this competition last season, so it gives us even more motivation to go as far as we can, especially with the boys having also got through to the quarter-finals of the Professional Development League Cup.
"Fulham are a Premier League side and we know they're going to be tough and physical, so I think it's really important we play our way."
Under competition regulations, clubs are required to charge supporters to attend FA Youth Cup fixtures.
Supporters should be aware there will be no pay on the day facility for this fixture.
