Cullen targets more minutes
Liam Cullen hopes to build on his progress with Swansea City Under-23s as they resume their Premier League 2 campaign tonight against Arsenal at Landore (7pm).
The striker, who netted 21 goals for the under-18s last season, has featured six times for the development side this campaign.
The 18-year-old made three appearances for Wales Under-19s this month, as they suffered defeats against Slovakia, Turkey and Kazakhstan.
Despite the losses, Cullen continued to show his promise with goals from the penalty spot against Turkey and Kazakhstan.
“I was delighted to score once again for my country,” he said.
“They were my first goals of the season. Now my target it to get on the scoresheet for the Swans.
“I have featured a few times for the under-23s this season, with my first start against Everton last month.
“Going forward I want to try to get as many minutes as I can and cement my place in the team.
“We’ve got a great squad which is tough to get into. Anyone who gets a starting place does so on merit.
“I’ve got to keep pushing hard to keep my place in the team and hopefully more goals will come.”
