Cooper delighted with "outstanding" Tom Carroll
Steve Cooper hailed century-maker Tom Carroll for his “outstanding” performance in Swansea City’s 1-0 win at Luton Town.
Carroll made his 100th appearance for the Swans as Andre Ayew’s late goal moved Cooper’s side into the Championship play-offs.
The midfielder missed the 3-1 home win over Middlesbrough due a one-match suspension following his dismissal for two bookings against Blackburn Rovers.
He was straight back into Cooper’s starting XI for the final fixture before Christmas Day, and and the head coach was hugely satisfied by the 27-year-old’s display.
“I thought Tom Carroll was outstanding today,” said Cooper.
“It was his 100th appearance for the club and he really set the tone about the way we wanted to play.
“He and the two lads in midfield did that well today.”
He added: “We are playing well. We did that against Blackburn and Middlesbrough – even though I felt we deserved to pick up more than a point against Blackburn - and I thought we were more than good enough to win the game today so it’s very satisfying for us.”
