Connor Roberts to undergo surgery on groin injury
Swansea City defender Connor Roberts will undergo surgery on a groin injury suffered while on international duty with Wales.
The full-back was forced off during the first half of Wales’ defeat against Denmark in Amsterdam last Saturday as Rob Page’s side were eliminated from Euro 2020.
The 25-year-old started all four of Wales’ games at the finals, and scored the clinching goal in the vital group stage win over Turkey.
Roberts is expected to be out of action until the end of September after the operation, meaning he is set to miss the start of the 2021-22 season.
The club’s medical team have been working closely with their counterparts at the Football Association of Wales, with a scan highlighting the severity of the injury.
Everyone at Swansea City wishes Connor a speedy recovery.
