Connor Roberts pleased by adaptable team performances
Connor Roberts believes the Championhip’s leaders have shown their all-round qualities in the early stages of the season.
Swansea City top the table after six games, with head coach Steve Cooper leading his side to five wins and a draw.
A 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road last time out means the Swans sit two points clear of second-placed Charlton Athletic.
Cooper’s side have secured three clean sheets from their six games, and boast the second-best defensive record in the league.
And Roberts believes showing different sides to their game has proved vital so far for the Swans.
“I wouldn’t say we’ve played unbelievable football in every game, but we’ve done different things that we’ve needed to do,” said Roberts, who is currently on international duty with Wales.
“Against Leeds and Derby away from home, we’ve had to dig in, while we played some really nice football against Birmingham.
“At other times we’ve just stayed in games and let our football do the talking.
“The gaffer and his staff have game plans and we have to try to be as close to that as we can. They have experience and know what they’re talking about; it’s paid dividends so far.”
