Connor Roberts departs Swansea City to join Burnley
Swansea City defender Connor Roberts has joined Burnley for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
The 25-year-old academy product has made 152 appearances for his boyhood club since making his bow in an FA Cup tie at Wolves in January 2018, but will now link up with Sean Dyche’s Clarets in the Premier League on a four-year contract.
He has made more appearances for the Swans in the English professional pyramid and cup competitions than any other player to emerge through the academy ranks, having overtaken Joe Allen’s total of 150 towards the end of last season.
The former season-ticket holder has been a regular in the first team since that first outing at Molineux, and has scored 11 goals and contributed 12 assists during his Swans career.
A passionate and ceaselessly energetic presence, Roberts was a stand-out performer in last season’s run to the play-off final, and was named the club’s Supporters’ Player of the Year.
He has also won 30 caps for Wales, scoring two goals including the clincher against Turkey at Euro 2020 before suffering a groin injury that has kept him sidelined since the tournament.
Everyone at Swansea City sincerely thanks Connor for his services to the club, and wish him every success in his future career.
