Club Statement | Tom Gorringe Promoted to CEO

Swansea City is delighted to announce the promotion of Tom Gorringe to Chief Executive Officer of the club.
Tom brings with him over 15 years of experience in professional football, the majority of which has been in the Premier League and Championship. He joined the club as Chief Operating Officer at the start of the year, and in his new role, will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the football club.
Tom has a reputation for demonstrating strong financial management at his previous clubs, improving infrastructure, increasing revenues, driving the matchday experience whilst also ensuring operational efficiency.
Throughout his career, Tom has worked across all four top-flight divisions, contributing to three promotions. Notably, he was part of the leadership team at Brighton & Hove Albion when they were promoted to the Premier League in 2017, and he served as CEO at Bristol Rovers during their promotion in 2022.
Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen of the majority ownership group commented on the appointment: "We met Tom in the winter of 2024, and we were immediately impressed speaking with him. We had a thought provoking and lively dialogue about Swansea City and the long-term direction we want to go as a club. Over the course of multiple conversations and in person meetings, it became clear that our visions aligned and that Tom’s experience as a seasoned operator at past football clubs would be of significant value to us moving forward. We have been impressed with Tom’s work since joining the club as COO and the positive impact he has already made inside the building. Tom is tasked with restructuring the club to ensure we are operating efficiently and to optimal standards, and we are confident he will do just that.”

New CEO, Tom Gorringe, said: "I’m under no illusions that there is a lot to do, but I am excited to take on this role at the club. Since joining, I have been impressed with the staff and the vast potential at the club as well as the ambition of the ownership group. We have everything that we need here to be successful. We want to build on our strong foundations and drive the club towards sustainable success that gets us back to competing at the top of the division. The ownership group is fully committed to delivering success for this club, and I’m honoured to be the person that they’ve entrusted to deliver for them.”
“Throughout my time in football, I have always enjoyed an open dialogue with supporters, and I look forward to continuing that here. With a new date soon to be agreed for the Fans' Forum and the upcoming club survey, there will be opportunities to share your feedback on how we can improve. We will do all we can to take feedback on board to make positive changes. I am excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead for Swansea City."
The club welcomes Tom and wishes him every success in his new role. We look forward to an exciting time ahead as we aim to finish the season as strongly as possible and prepare for next season’s campaign.
