Club statement | Andy Coleman

Swansea City Chairman Andy Coleman has informed the Board of Directors that he intends to step down as Chairman following the conclusion of this season.
“It has been one of the great privileges of my life to have led this great Club for two years. When our family decided to move to Swansea, we knew such a commitment would require tremendous effort and a lot of sacrifice, and we have been “all in” since the moment we arrived.
I have given every ounce of who I am to this Club, and I am so grateful to everyone at Swansea City, and in the Swansea community, for welcoming us and for becoming such an integral part of our lives. These close personal relationships, with staff and supporters, will serve us well as an ownership group moving into the years ahead.
These efforts have required me to take considerable time away from my wife and young family. I will always be grateful to Anne for sacrificing so much on my behalf. Now though is the time for me to shift my focus back onto them. Our love of this Club and this city will always be with us and continues to grow stronger with each day.”
The Board of Directors jointly stated, “Since becoming Chairman in 2023, Andy has worked tirelessly to improve the Club. No one can doubt his real commitment, the sacrifices he has made, and how much he cares about this Club. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Andy as a board member and Co-investor in the majority investment group.”
Andy has successfully led the Club through a period of significant transition that saw an ownership change, better connectivity with the EFL, bringing the Swansea Women’s Team into the Club, the launch of the first girls’ academy in Wales, and the rebuilding of the Club’s relationship with the Football Association of Wales. That strong connection to the FAW has created the opportunity for the Welsh Men’s National Team to play at the Swansea.com stadium in September along with the arrival of the Welsh Women’s National team this June.
Everyone at Swansea City would like to thank Andy for his commitment, his care for the Club and the community, and his work at the Club. We wish him and his family well for the future.
