Swansea City keeper Lawrence Vigouroux and club ambassador Lee Trundle joined Nathaniel Cars for their 'Fuel the Foodbank' initiative as they delivered more than £1,000 worth of donations to the Pontarddulais Partnership foodbank.

Supporters donated food, toiletries and period products during the home matchday against Portsmouth on November 30. Visitors to the new Nathaniel Cars showroom in Swansea also contributed to the initiative throughout that week.

Ahead of Christmas, Trundle and Vigouroux used the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid to take the donations from the showroom to the foodbank located in Canolfan y Bont.

As well as the foodbank, the Pontarddulais Partnership also hosts Swansea Space – a twice-weekly event with free hot drinks and meals – as well as drop-in sessions to collect free period products.

The donations of food just before Christmas was gratefully received by volunteers at the foodbank, along with local councillor Philip Downing, as they prepare Christmas packages for families most in need this festive season.

Pontarddulais Partnership also give vouchers to toy shops for children using the foodbank so that they all have something to open at Christmas.

Nathan Griffiths, group director of Nathaniel MG, said: “As a family-run business, community means everything to us. Partnering with Swansea City to support the local foodbank has been a privilege, and we’re grateful to play a small part in helping those in need. Swansea has welcomed us warmly, and we’re proud to give back.”
