Chris Church | We were ruthless
Swansea City Women interim head coach Chris Church praised his side’s ruthless and relentless display in their 13-0 win over Llandudno Ladies in the Genero Adran Trophy.
Emily Thomas netted five for the Swans, with Chloe Chivers, Robyn Pinder and Stacey John-Davis all scoring twice.
Katy Hosford and Jess Williams also found the back of the net to give the Swans comfortable passage into the quarter-finals.
Church was delighted to see the Swans book themselves into another cup quarter-final - having also reached the last eight of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup - and praised their clinical showing.
“I think we played some really good football,” said Church.
“Everything we spoke about and worked on in training came out on the pitch, and the quality of the finishing was excellent.
“We wanted to show that ruthless edge from the team, and we got it from everyone, so we are really pleased with that.
“It’s massively important to have so many scorers across the team, we can’t always rely on one or two and we definitely have plenty who can do it.
“We want to be in these sorts of positions, we want to win all the competitions we enter, this is another step in the right direction.”
Church also had words of praise for Thomas with her five-star showing bringing up her first goals in Swansea colours.
“I’m really pleased for Emily [Thomas], since she’s come in she has worked hard and done everything that has been asked of her,” he added.
“Hopefully this will be a springboard now for her and she will continue this and develop to an even higher level.”
