Chloe Chivers excited to play at Swansea.com Stadium after injury-enforced wait
Swansea City Women’s forward Chloe Chivers is excited to finally get her chance to play at the Swansea.com Stadium against Wrexham Women on Sunday, having seen her dream of doing so delayed by injury last season.
The Swans played two games at the stadium during the 2022-23 campaign, but Chivers was forced to watch from the stands after being sidelined with an ACL injury.
But, with the Swans set to return to SA1 for this weekend's Genero Adran Premier fixture, Chivers is back to fitness and eagerly awaiting her first chance to take to the field in front of the Jack Army.
“I’m very excited, I’ve missed out the last couple of times due to injury. I’ve been around when we’ve played at the stadium but to play in it will be something completely different,” said Chivers.
“It did hurt a little bit watching from the sidelines, I think I was a couple of weeks out from returning, so to miss out on it by only a couple of weeks was a bit heartbreaking.
“Hopefully we can get the same support as we had for those games last year, if not more, when we step out onto the pitch again.
“I’m buzzing for it, it’s obviously a very different experience get on a normal Sunday. I am sure the atmosphere and the supporters will push us on and it will be a great day.
"We want to go out and put in a really good performance for the fans. There will be little girls aspiring to be where we are one day, so it will be a big one for us.”
