Chloe Chivers | The atmosphere in the group is really good at the moment
Midfielder Chloe Chivers is relishing being back from injury after scoring on her return for Swansea City Women, and says there is a positive feeling in the squad following their recent improvement in results.
Chivers ruptured ligaments in her ankle during the Swans 1-0 defeat to league leaders Cardiff City Women in February, but made her return in style with a trademark long range free-kick securing three points in a 2-0 victory against Cardiff Met at the weekend.
The 25-year-old was delighted to be back out on the field and feels the togetherness of the squad will be vital as they near the conclusion of a challenging season.
“Obviously for me just coming back from injury, to get that goal is a great feeling,” said Chivers.
“It was a tough one mentally and physically, but luckily I’ve healed pretty quickly, I had a game with the under-19s last week to get myself ready for the rest of phase two.
“This season hasn’t been ideal for us and it’s taken its toll over the last couple of months, but everyone has come together, everyone is there for each other and working for each other, and the atmosphere is amazing.
“We just want to power through these games over the rest of the season, and push on from here.
“To be coming off the back of a win again feels really good, the mood is really good at the moment, spirits are high and there are smiles on everyone’s faces.
"We want to carry that on for the rest of the season.”
