Charlie Haynes | The last two games have reflected how we want to play

Goalkeeper Charlie Haynes believes Swansea City Women are showing positive signs for the future, despite the disappointment of knowing they will end the campaign without silverware.

Haynes kept her ninth clean sheet of the season, making a fine double save when the game was goalless before Stacey John-Davis and Chloe Chivers found the net to seal a 2-0 win.

That made it back-to-back victories for the Swans, now under the guidance of caretaker head coach Yzzy Taylor.

Having finished outside the top four in phase one of the Genero Adran Premier season, the Swans cannot finish any higher than fifth.

But Haynes, who joined the club last summer, hopes their improving form can prove the start of their building towards the 2025-26 season.

“I think the last two games have reflected how we want to perform, obviously it isn’t ideal to find ourselves in the bottom four but we just want to keep improving and build for next season," said the goalkeeper.

“I think we played really well as a team and it’s always nice to get the clean sheet.

“For the whole 90 minutes we dominated the game, we started the first half really well, we had a couple of chances.

“The girls worked really hard in the second half, and we got the result that we deserve and that we wanted.

“I’m really happy with my performance, there will always be stuff to improve on but to get that clean sheet is always a positive one for me.

“But the girls have all helped massively to get that, each game we aim for it and this was a really good display."
