Celina eyes repeat performance
Bersant Celina is targeting a repeat performance against Preston North End as the attacking midfielder prepares for his home Swansea City debut.
The 21-year-old scored for former loan club Ipswich in a 3-0 win over Preston in the Championship last season.
And the former Manchester City man is aiming for more of the same when the Swans host the Lilywhites on Saturday (3pm).
“Hopefully that goal last season is a good omen for me,” said Celina, who joined the Swans in July.
“I want to score my first goal for Swansea as quickly as possible and this weekend would be perfect.
“Preston are a really tough team. They are very physical and a strong side in the Championship.
“We managed to beat them twice then I was at Ipswich, though, and I hope we can do the same this weekend.
“It is going to be hard, but I think it is possible for us to beat them in front of our home fans if we play good football.
“If we play like we did last game, then we have a big chance.”
Celina made his first Swans appearance in last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
And the Kosovo international is relishing the prospect of playing in front of the Jack Army.
“I am looking forward to my home debut,” he added. “You always look forward to that first home game and I can’t wait for Saturday to be in the stadium with all the fans.
“We had amazing support away at Bramall Lane last weekend and I am expecting it to be much bigger tomorrow. Hopefully we can give them a win.”
