Carter-Vickers relishing Elland Road test
Cameron Carter-Vickers says Swansea City must relish the challenge of playing in front of a hostile Elland Road crowd when they face Leeds United tonight (7.45pm).
The defender, who made 18 loan appearances for Sheffield United last season, says experiencing the atmosphere at the historic ground has been one of his best playing experiences.
The United States international, who continues to impress in a Swans shirt during his current loan spell, says the atmosphere at the Yorkshire is something to savour and can help inspire the Swans to back-to-back Championship victories.
“It was probably up there with one of my most favourite games,” the 21-year-old said, reflecting on the Blades 2-1 win against their Yorkshire rivals last term.
“Whenever you play at Elland Road it is a good atmosphere and they get right behind their team so it will be our job to keep them quiet and get our fans going.
“They are the atmospheres you want to play in. Big stadiums and loud crowds only inspire us further. We have to use that as motivation in tonight’s game.
“Saturday’s result against Millwall will give us confidence. We have two tough games in a short space of time is what is another busy week of football. We have to be right and we have to be ready.”
