Cameron Toshack Swansea City Under-23s
12th March
Coach Cameron Toshack says fans have an opportunity to see Swansea City Under-23s make history on Monday when they face Wolves in a potential title decider at the Liberty Stadium (7pm).
The young Swans will lift the Premier League 2 (Division 2) title if they avoid defeat against a Wolves side that sits third in the table.
The U23s have beaten Wolves twice already this season, including a 2-1 victory in the third round of the Checkatrade Trophy.
Despite those results and being one step away from claiming the title, Toshack insists the young Swans can't take anything for granted.
"We have three games left to play in the league and need one point to ensure we claim the title," he said. "So we are very clear that we can't take anything for granted on Monday.
"The team have been fantastic throughout the season and we must be competitive, maintain our standards and continue playing exciting football.
"Our players have set themselves targets they want to reach before the end of the campaign which we have not yet met - so there is still plenty to play for."
Monday's game is another opportunity for the young Swans to play at the Liberty Stadium with tickets still on sale.
And Toshack believes support from the Jack Army only adds to the players' development and will help the U23s celebrate a successful season.
"A match at the Liberty gives fans an opportunity to come out and support the next generation of players we have coming through our youth ranks," he added.
"Everyone is really looking forward to this match. We have had two competitive games against Wolves this season and we are expecting another come Monday.
"It would be great to get a couple of thousand people to celebrate a successful season and hopefully a title victory."
