Byron Anthony has challenged Swansea City Under-18s give everything they have left in their six remaining games – starting with Hull City on Saturday (11am).

The Swans take on the Tigers buoyed by a three-game unbeaten streak following a two 2-2 draws with Nottingham Forest and Millwall along with a 1-0 win over Colchester.

Goals from Adrian Akande and Rio Campbell ensured the Swans earned a share of the spoils in Millwall on Wednesday, with Anthony’s side having a short turnaround time before travelling up to Hull on Friday afternoon in readiness for the game.

While it is a demanding schedule, the Swans U18s coach feels it is an invaluable insight to the professional game for his young players.

“It’s train, play, recover, train, play, recover. That’s how it’s been for the last two months,” said Anthony. “It’s very similar to how the first team are in terms of scheduling.

“The players are adapting to it though, and that’s a good sign.

“We want to push these lads as much as we can and develop them further. If we do that then we’re doing a good job.

“We’ve told them to give us everything they have got, but it’s important we keep the right character in the last six games.”

Josh Edwards

The Swans could welcome back Josh Edwards for the trip to Hull.

The midfielder has been sidelined since March with an ankle injury, but has been training this week so he may form part of the travelling contingent.
