Brandon Cooper signs Swansea City contract extension
Brandon Cooper has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Swansea City, which will keep the defender at the club until the end of June 2021.
The 19-year-old’s previous deal had been due to expire at the end of the season, but he has put pen to paper on an additional 12 months in SA1.
Cooper made his first-team debut in the Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace in August of 2018, making him the first player born in the 21st century to represent the club.
He has yet to make a senior appearance this season, but was an unused substitute in all three Carabao Cup ties, as well as the Championship victory at Luton.
Cooper, who has been with the Swans academy since the age of six, has been a regular for the under-23s and skippered the development side.
The Wales Under-21 international also helped the club’s under-19s win the FAW Youth Cup for the 10th season in a row earlier this year.
