Bony: Only the best will do
25th November
Wilfried Bony is hoping for a repeat performance - both personally and collectively - of Swansea City's memorable Europa League win over Valencia when the sides meet again on Thursday.
The Ivory Coast international turned in one of his best performances since his club-record move in the summer when the Swans opened their Group A campaign with a 3-0 win at the Mestalla in September.
Bony proved a constant menace to the La Liga side as Adil Rami was dismissed in the tenth minute for hauling down the striker before he opened the scoring.
While it was arguably Bony's finest display since becoming a Swan, it also ranks as possibly Swansea's best performance of the campaign so far.
And the striker is keen to see a similar performance as the Swans look to book their spot in the knockout stages of the tournament by beating the Group A leaders at the Liberty.
"Why can't we do it again? We play at home and we need to qualify - we have to do our best to get into the next round," said Bony, who has scored ten goals in 19 games so far.
"It was really good to score in Valencia - it was one of my best moments for Swansea so far.
"For us, it's important to win. We play at home and it is not easy because they are top of the group.
"We could have been there (in the knockout stages), but we drew two times against Kuban Krasnodar.
"The Europa League is a competition that I like. For me it's very important to try to score every game. That's what it's like for strikers."
