Bersant eyes Blades chance
Bersant Celina is happy to play wherever he is needed at Swansea City – but he is desperate to score some goals.
Celina is in contention to make his Swans debut when Graham Potter’s team kick off the new Championship season at Sheffield United on Saturday after signing from Manchester City.
Potter has indicated that he sees Celina operating primarily in a central attacking midfield role, although he has lauded the Kosovo international’s versatility.
And Celina will have no qualms about operating anywhere across the Swans’ frontline.
“Wherever the manager wants me to play, I’ll be there,” he said.
“My favourite position is as a central attacking midfielder behind the striker, or I enjoy being wide on the left or right.
“I can play in different positions and I am happy to do that. I just love to play football.”
Celina has experience of the Championship having thrived during a loan spell with Ipswich last season.
He scored eight times in 38 appearances for the Portman Road club, and also won praise for his willingness to put in a shift.
“I like to work hard and I like to have the ball all the time,” Celina added.
“I see myself as a goalscorer. I want to create and score goals.”
Celina only arrived at the Liberty Stadium this week, but feels sharp enough to play a part at Bramall Lane if required.
“I’ve been training the whole summer, I feel fit and I’m ready,” he said.
“I hope I can play against Sheffield United.”
