Bersant Celina focusing on improvements
Bersant Celina is confident more goals and assists will follow for Swansea City if he focuses on continuing to improve his game.
The Kosovo international racked up his third assist of the season in the weekend victory over Wigan, surging to the byline to lay on a backheeled finish for Andre Ayew.
Celina tormented Wigan full-back Nathan Byrne for much of the afternoon, was a constant menace with his trickery.
He could have ended the game with a goal of his own after seizing on a poor defensive pass, but dragged his effort wide.
And it’s those sorts of scenarios that the 23-year-old wants to do better in over the remainder of the season.
“I think I had a good game overall against Wigan. I was pleased to get the assist for the winning goal,” he said,
“I still think I’ve got to keep improving. I had a chance towards the end of the game that I should have scored, but I didn’t take it.
“I think I have to do better in situations like that.
“As I’ve said before, people get drawn to numbers like goals and assists, but they don’t always tell the full story.
“I just have to keep plugging away and, hopefully, the goals will come. As long as I keep showing everyone how good I can be and what I’m capable of, that’s the most important thing."
