Ben Cabango | We'll be ready to go again
Ben Cabango is eager for Swansea City to return to Championship action this weekend and build on a victory and a clean sheet last time out.
The Swans head to The Hawthorns to take on the Baggies this weekend, having beaten Hull 3-0 in the final game before the current international break.
This is the final break in the season before the competition is put on hold for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and Cabango won his fifth cap for Wales in their Nations League defeat to Poland on Sunday evening.
The defender’s performance will surely have strengthened his case for inclusion in Rob Page’s final squad for the global showpiece, but he knows he will need to continue his strong form at club level.
And he is keen to help Russell Martin’s side build on their positive performance and result against the Tigers.
“I think the last three or four performances have been good, but obviously it was really good to come into the international break on the back of a win,” said Cabango.
“We bounced back from some of the disappointments we have had recently, we have kept two clean sheets in our last three games and we have started picking up points.
“We have created a lot of chances, and been solid at the back, but then we have not managed to put it all together.
“Against Hull it felt like we did that. As a defender you always want that clean sheet to go with a win and I feel we have been improving as the season has gone on.
“That’s testament to all the lads, it’s not just the defenders, the guys in front of us have to put in the hard work too.
“We will be ready to go again and try and pick up where we left off.”
