Ben Cabango | We stuck together, and it paid off
Swansea City defender Ben Cabango believed togetherness was the key in the hard-fought 1-0 victory over Norwich City at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The Swans extended their unbeaten run on home turf in the Championship this campaign as Amankwah Forson’s early own goal gave the hosts all three points.
But it could have been different if not for a determined rearguard effort from the Swans, including the efforts of Wales international Cabango, who made a magnificent 90th minute tackle to deny Borja Sainz in the Swans' box.
"I think he’s taken that touch a bit wide and I thought it was a case of now or never, and I had to dive in and make the tackle," said Cabango.
“Luckily it paid off and we got the clean sheet, and that’s what I’m most pleased about.
“We are really happy with the performance and result. I think in the first half we deserved the goal.
“We played really well, we were winning those first and second balls and we were really competing.
“We were playing out the back and playing some real positive football. The second half was a real tough battle, but we all stuck together and it was a good result.
“The last 10 minutes towards the end, I’m not going to lie, I was blowing and I think a few of us were.
“But we stuck together, and we were all communicating on the pitch and helping each other through it."
