Ben Cabango | We lost control of the game
Ben Cabango admits a lack of control proved costly for Swansea City against Bristol City, meaning his first goal of the season was not enough to secure all three points.
The defender, who has been in outstanding form of late, put the hosts ahead at the Swansea.com Stadium when he arrived to steer home a Jisung Eom corner from close range.
The Swans deservedly held their lead at the break, but Cabango acknowledged they did not kick on after the interval and eventually paid the price when Jason Knight headed home for the Robins.
The result means Swansea remain unbeaten on home turf in the Championship, and extended their run without defeat to three games, but Cabango felt it could, and perhaps should, have been more.
“I think we started the game well, I think we had control and we probably should have scored another,” he said.
“First half we played well, second half we could have been a bit braver on the ball and tried to play through a bit more.
“We lost control of the game, we did not really look like conceding, so to concede from a set-piece so late on is really disappointing.
“We have had a positive month, we wanted to carry that on but it is still a point.
“I was buzzing to score and get the celebration in, I think I have been due a goal so it was good to get one, but it’s frustrating it was not part of a win.”
