Ben Cabango to miss Southampton clash, with Harrison Ashby close to return
Swansea City will be without Ben Cabango for Saturday’s meeting with Southampton, but Harrison Ashby is nearing a return to full fitness.
Centre-back Cabango missed the games against Morecambe and Birmingham with an ankle injury and, while he is nearing a return, the clash with the Saints comes too soon for the Wales international.
Ashby is in full training and nearing a return to action, having been absent since the home draw with Hull back in November.
Josh Key, Sam Parker and Liam Walsh are all sidelined.
“Ben Cabango is not ready yet, we think he will be on the grass very soon but this is too early for him,” said head coach Luke Williams.
“Harrison is close, he is back training and will do again today and he could be available.
“Josh (Key) is a longer-term one, while Sam Parker is awaiting to see the extent of that and we don’t want to put a timescale on it. He has done so well, he has been brave to take the opportunity and is an exciting player.
“Liam Walsh is going to take some time, he is back at the club and now he has a journey in front of him.”
