Bashir Humphreys hopes Swansea City can quickly return to winning ways with the help of the vocal backing of their Swansea.com Stadium support when they host Watford under the lights in SA1 on Tuesday.

The Swans pushed Championship leaders Leicester all the way before suffering a 3-1 defeat at the weekend, a result which ended a run of four wins in a row for Michael Duff’s side.

Humphreys, 20, won the praise of the head coach for his mature performance against a side stacked with Premier League experience.

The Chelsea loanee - who was Swansea’s matchwinner when they beat Norwich in their last evening kick-off on home turf - has loved the atmosphere at the Swansea.com Stadium and hopes the team and the fans can spur each other on again for the visit of the Hornets.

I didn’t know it was the biggest crowd of the season on Saturday, but I could feel it before the game,” Humphreys said.

“On the pitch before kick-off, I was buzzing. I have loved the atmosphere in our stadium since I’ve been here and that was really good.

“The game wasn’t necessarily going our way the whole time but the supporters were right behind us and that’s so important because we’re going to need them on Tuesday because we want to bounce back quickly.

“It’s always hard to lose a game of football. But when you lose yet you work so hard, and you’ve stuck together, it gives you positivity for the next game.

“I think it’s important to get back to winning ways because we were on such a good run before the international break and sometimes when you get to that two weeks off you almost don’t want it to happen.

“But we’ve had a decent performance against Leicester despite the result, so we’ll prepare to go again and show what we’re about.

“We know we can perform well against a team full of Premier League quality players, so if we can keep performing to the same level we have been we’ll win games.

“We always have to have confidence going into games, and we’ll be approaching this one doing what we do and hopefully we can get the result."
