Barrie McKay targets more opportunities
Swansea City winger Barrie McKay has found game time limited so far this season, but the Scotsman hopes to see more action after featuring from the bench against Fulham.
Having made 31 appearances following his arrival in SA1 last term, McKay has just four first-team games under his belt this season and his previous appearance had come in the Carabao Cup at the end of September.
McKay came on as a substitute early in the second half against the Cottagers, grabbing the assist for Swansea’s only goal of the game on his first appearance in the Championship this season.
The 24-year-old hopes to follow his first league outing by cementing a place as a regular in the matchday squad in the following weeks.
“All I want to do is be playing football and I want to be playing here,” he said.
“I enjoy playing for this club, I enjoy being in the city and the boys are brilliant so I love being here.
“While I wasn’t in the side it was up to me to try and prove to the manager that I should be in the team, and hopefully I’ve been able to do that.
“Hopefully I can push on and get more minutes under my belt throughout the rest of the season.”
