Azeem Abdulai facing long lay-off after hamstring injury
Swansea City midfielder Azeem Abdulai is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in training.
The 20-year-old Scot had been due to start Saturday’s Championship fixture against Bristol City, but is instead facing up to three months out.
And head coach Michael Duff admitted the lay-off is a cruel blow to a player who has featured at wing-back, making five appearances so far this term.
“Azeem was due to start, he was in our session yesterday, but he suffered a really bad hamstring injury," explained Duff.
“We are looking at 12 weeks, he might need surgery and he will go and see a specialist now.
“It is really disappointing for him because he had earned himself a start in the league, and it’s another thing we have had to deal with.”
