TRAVELLING BY CAR
The local council implements a number of road closures around The Hawthorns on matchdays, which fans should be aware of.
Halford Road (from Hawthorns Railway Bridge to the Birmingham Road junction) is closed before and after matches while the inside lane of the westbound carriageway (towards M5 junction 1) is closed before the game, and the entire road is closed after the game.
The West Brom website recommends Wattville Primary School, the Mercure Hotel and local park and walk options for parking, but these should be booked in advance.
You can also call 02476 997605 to book over the phone.
The stadium itself is fairly straightforward to find, and is situated just 500 metres away from Junction 1 of the M5.
West Brom provide the following instructions:
For an alternative route for those travelling northbound on the M5 avoiding Junction 1
(1) From M5 junction 1, and West Bromwich:
- Take the A41 East, signposted Birmingham City Centre.
- The stadium is visible immediately after the motorway island is cleared, and stands about 600 metres to the Birmingham side of junction 1 on the right-hand side.
(2) From Birmingham
- Follow the A41 West towards the M5, junction 1
- The stadium will be located on your left-hand side.
TRAIN TRAVEL
The Hawthorns Train and Metro Station is around a five-minute walk from the stadium and offers train and tram access.
Trains to The Hawthorns leave Swansea approximately every hour and the journey takes around three-and-a-half hours. Please note, the final train back to Swansea leaves at 7.53pm and is due into Swansea at 11.44pm.
Anyone choosing to travel by train should keep an eye on train timetables and plan their journey in advance. Supporters are also reminded that, due to new rules around ball-in-play times, matches could run for longer than in previous seasons.
NEARBY PUBS
There are very few pubs near the ground, however the Hawthorns has a fan park on site which is open to both home and away fans from 11.30am. It will be showing the women's world cup ahead of kick-off on Saturday.
As well as the fan zone, a large Greggs nearby is a popular food stop ahead of the match for supporters while the main pub for away fans is ‘The Vine’ which is about a 15 to 20-minute walk from the ground.
