Swansea City travel to the north-east on Saturday to face Sunderland in one of the longest away trips of the Championship season.

Below is a handy guide for members of the the Jack Army making the 666-mile round journey.

SEAT ALLOCATION

The 49,000 all-seater Stadium of Light is the biggest stadium in the Championship by some distance.

Away fans are located in the upper tier of the north stand, which is behind one of the goals. There is room for up to 3,000 travelling fans here.

Facilities in this area are good, but the upper tier is very high and there are a lot of stairs from the ground floor to the seats.

Visiting fans generally enter the ground through turnstiles 69-72.

Please note, the Stadium of Light is a cashless venue.

 

TICKETS

Tickets for this match are now off sale and there is no pay on the day. Please do not travel to Sunderland if you don't have a ticket.

All tickets purchased before 4pm on Wednesday, April 9 have been posted out first class, with any tickets purchased after this point being available to collect on Thursday, April 10 or Friday, April 11.

If your tickets have not arrived, please let the ticket office know by emailing ticketing@swanseacity.com - including your customer number or booking reference - and the club will arrange duplicate tickets for you to collect at the host club.

 

PARKING

Roads can be very busy near the Stadium of Light and supporters are advised to allow extra time to deal with the traffic build up.

Roads near the stadium are residential only and are well monitored on matchdays.

St Mary’s car park in the city centre is a five-minute walk to the Stadium of Light. Postcode is SR1 3AH.

 

BY TRAIN

Sunderland train station is located less than one mile from the Stadium of Light and the walk takes between 15 and 20 minutes. The walk is straightforward with the stadium visible for most of the trip.

The Stadium of Light and St Peter’s metro stations are close to the stadium, and you can travel to these from Newcastle and Sunderland city centres.

Supporters are urged to plan their journey in advance and keep checking for rail and travel updates which may impact their journey.

 

BY PLANE

The nearest airport to the Stadium of Light is Newcastle. The stadium and airport are served by the metro.

NEARBY PUBS

With the city centre in walking distance of the ground, there are a number of pubs and venues nearby which are suitable for travelling fans.

Sunderland Football Club recommend the following: Port of Call, Fire Station and The Peacock. For options closer to the ground, supporters can visit the Colliery Tavern and the Hilton Hotel.
