If you are heading to Hillsborough to cheer on Swansea City this weekend, here is a handy travel guide to help you with your trip.

SEAT ALLOCATION

Up to 3,700 away fans are housed in the West Stand behind the goal. Pies, sausage rolls, burgers and hot dogs - along with Bulmers, Heineken and Foster’s - are sold.

At the front of the stadium Bieres pork sandwich shop (S6 4GW) does good pork sandwiches with crackling. Hillsborough Fish Bar (S6 1TD) is outside the stadium has very good food and is always busy.

PARKING

There’s some street parking if you arrive early, otherwise there are car parks along the A61 (£4). There is also a car park behind the Kop and club shop (S6 1QE - £7).

Alternatively, you can park at Meadowhall Shopping Centre by J34 of the M1 - parking is free - and take a yellow tram to Leppings Lane (£3 return). The journey takes around 35 minutes.

BY TRAIN

The train station is 3.4 miles away from Hillsborough, take a taxi to the ground (£10) or the bus station is across the road. The number 53 to Ecclesfield runs every 10 minutes (30-minute journey).

Matchday football shuttles run from the far side of the bus station, while Supertram has a stop next to the train station with services running every 10 minutes. The Hillsborough stop is a 10-minute walk to the ground.

Trains from Swansea leave at 7.59am, 8.29am and 8.54am for the four-and-a-half-hour journey. Return services run at 5.24pm, 5.56pm, 6.24pm and 6.56pm, getting into Swansea at 9.43pm, 10.20pm, 10.44pm and three minutes past midnight respectively.
